Lautaro Martinez made history for Inter in the Champions this evening and commits his future to them. ‘I would gladly play for Inter my whole career.’
The striker fired in the Piotr Zielinski knock-down to seal the 2-0 result at the De Kuip stadium in Rotterdam, after Marcus Thuram had already opened the scoring against Feyenoord.
It was Lautaro Martinez’s 18th Champions goal for the club, making him their all-time top scorer in the competition, as Sandro Mazzola had managed 17 in the old European Cup format.
Lautaro Martinez commits future to Inter

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia after the first leg of this Round of 16 tie, he inspired the fans by discussing his future.
“I am so proud, I couldn’t have imagined this. I worked so hard and those who know me are well aware of all I’ve been through, but it doesn’t end here, and I want more.
“I would gladly play for Inter my whole career, though obviously it depends on many factors. I am very happy here, I renewed my contract over the summer, deciding to stay.
“I wake up every morning eager to get on the training field. My family is happy here, too.”
The 27-year-old World Cup winner joined Inter from Racing Avellaneda in the summer of 2018 for €25m.
His current contract runs to June 2029 and he has shattered records with 146 goals and 49 assists in 319 competitive matches for the club.
There have been links with the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, but he remains committed to Inter.
