Milan’s coaching search is now narrowed to four main candidates, with Massimiliano Allegri leading the race, although the likely appointment of Fabio Paratici as a new sporting director could shift the club’s focus toward Antonio Conte.
Rossoneri CEO Giorgio Furlani has recently held extensive talks with Paratici, who, despite being one of several candidates that the Diavolo’s chief is said to be considering, remains the frontrunner for the role.

His arrival would mark a key step forward for Milan, allowing them to move on to the next major decision, as Sergio Conceiçao is unlikely to be confirmed as their manager for next season.
Milan weigh four coaching options as sporting director decision looms
Calciomercato.com reports that Massimiliano Allegri and Antonio Conte are currently ahead in Milan’s coaching search, with Cesc Fabregas and Roberto De Zerbi also being considered.
However, the choice of sporting director could directly influence Milan’s final decision – while Furlani views Allegri as the best fit for the club’s current needs, Paratici’s appointment would significantly increase the chances of a move for Conte.
The two have already worked together at Juventus, where Conte’s tenure at the Allianz Stadium resulted in three consecutive Serie A titles, showcasing a successful partnership that could be reignited at San Siro.

Fabregas appears to be a more challenging option for Milan at the moment, as his strong ties to Como suggest he is likely to stay with the Lariani for at least another season.
Similarly, De Zerbi is not currently a priority target. However, the Rossoneri intend to shift their full focus to the coaching search after finalising the appointment of a new sporting director, a decision expected in the second half of April.
