Erling Haaland will be sidelined for several weeks following an ankle injury with Manchester City, which may even force him out of a World Cup Qualifying fixture against Italy in June, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Haaland sustained an ankle injury during a FA Cup match against Bournemouth on Sunday and was seen leaving the stadium on crutches.
Injury leaves Haaland in doubt for Norway vs Italy in World Cup Qualifiers
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Haaland will undergo further medical tests in the coming days, but Manchester City reportedly hope to see him return to action between the last Premier League game of the season on May 25 and the beginning of the Club World Cup on June 14.
His return to action also concerns Italy, given that the Azzurri will face Norway away in the opening 2026 World Cup Qualifying match on June 6.
Luciano Spalletti’s men were put in Group I following a Nations League quarter-final defeat against Germany last week.
Norway have had a quick start, beating Moldova and Israel away and taking a commanding lead after the opening two rounds.
