Reports are growing rapidly that Milan will push for Marc Pubill, the UD Almeria and Spain Under-21 international right-back.

The rumours of interest from the Rossoneri go back to last month, but they suddenly seem to have intensified their pursuit of the player.

Sky Sport Italia and Calciomercato.com claim that new coach Max Allegri gave the all-clear to go for him as the main target in that role.

Pubill had some close calls with Serie A

He had also been linked with Napoli, but above all had flown in for a medical with Atalanta in August 2024.

When Pubill failed those tests, the transfer was abandoned and he remained at UD Almeria for another year.

His asking price is now believed to be around €15m.

There is competition from Spain, with suggestions Barcelona are ready to buy him and then leave the player on loan at Real Betis to accumulate more top flight experience.

Now 22, the defender made 40 appearances last season between LaLiga2 and the Copa del Rey, contributing one goal and five assists.

He also participated in the European Under-21 Championship for Spain last month, reaching the quarter-finals.
