Italian Football congratulates Sinner on historic Wimbledon victory

Several Serie A clubs, including Napoli, Inter, Juventus, Milan and Roma, and Italian football personalities congratulated Jannik Sinner on his historic Wimbledon victory on Sunday.

Sinner made history at The Championships on Sunday by beating Carlos Alcaraz in four sets in the final and becoming the first Italian male tennis player to achieve such a milestone.

Sinner dominates headlines in Italian sports papers

Sinner’s victory dominated headlines on Italian sports papers on Monday, and many Italian football personalities and clubs emphasised his triumph.

Sinner is a passionate football fan as well and a Milan supporter.

It’s no coincidence that the Rossoneri were among the first clubs to congratulate the 23-year-old on social media.

Milan, Inter, Juventus and more react to Sinner’s Wimbledon victory

“A day for the history books! You’re one of a kind, Jannik,” the Rossoneri wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Juventus also congratulated Sinner, highlighting that he was the first Italian male tennis player to win Wimbledon.

Roma reacted to Sinner’s victory by writing: “A historic moment for Italian sport. Congratulations, Jannik!”

Italy’s Delegation Chief Gianluigi Buffon added: “Immense Jannik. Today, you wrote an unforgettable page in Italian sports history. You entered the legend by winning Wimbledon with class, courage and the maturity of a true champion, against the great Alcaraz. Watching you play and win fills our hearts with joy, keep making us proud, giant!”
