Jonathan David scores for Juventus against Atalanta in a pre-season friendly (@juventus)
The new Serie A campaign is just around the corner, and Football Italia editor Lorenzo Bettoni picks five new signings to watch in 2025-26.
A new Serie A season is about to begin, and even if the summer transfer window will only end after Round 2, there are indeed some new faces weāre all excited to watch this season.
Iāve selected the five new signings that Iām curious to see in action in competitive matches and who I expect to make a significant impact for their new clubs.

ToggleJonathan David (Juventus)
Juventus have only signed two new players so far this summer, but David is arguably one of the biggest moves in the league. The Canada star signed for the Old Lady on a free transfer after the end of his contract with Lille and scored his first goal in a Bianconeri shirt last week, in a friendly against Atalanta. In his first few outings with Juventus, David showed his ability to play in tight spaces and linked up pretty well with some of his new teammates in attack. Juventusā title dreams largely depend on how quickly the Canadian will adapt to Italian football, regardless of the predictable return of Randal Kolo Muani.

Kevin De Bruyne (Napoli)
Probably the most important signing in Serie A this summer, also on a free transfer. A Manchester City icon and one of the best players in the world in the last decade, the 34-year-old will surely add quality and depth to the already brilliant Napoli midfield. His signature, however, raises a tactical concern for Antonio Conte, whoāll be looking to integrate the Belgian into a midfield with Stan Lobotka, Frank Anguissa and Scott McTominay, last seasonās Serie A MVP. Potentially, moving McT into a wider role could create space for De Bruyne in the middle. KDB didnāt seem at the peak of his form in the early pre-season games, but scored a brace and provided an assist against Girona last week.
Ardon Jashari (Milan)
The Rossoneri have transformed their midfield by selling Tijjani Reijnders to Manchester City and signing Samuele Ricci, Luka Modric and Jashari. To date, the latter is the most expensive signing in Serie A during the 2025 summer transfer window. As for Modric and Ricci, we know what they can offer ā for different reasons ā and Ricci indeed has a vital possibilitĆ to become a key player for the Italian national team as well. Jashari, however, is expected to be more of a goal-scoring threat at San Siro to justify his ā¬36m price tag, so it will be interesting to see how he will adapt to Italian football and whether he will fill the void left by Reijndersā departure.

Wesley (Roma)
Wing-backs are crucial for Gian Piero Gasperini, and Wesley makes no exception. Signed from Flamengo for ā¬25m, the 21-year-old has a unique background as he had decided to quit his football career after the COVID pandemic. Roma beat competition from many European clubs to secure his signature this summer, and Wesley will surely get consistent playing time down the right flank, not just because heās been Romaās most expensive purchase in the current transfer window. Evan Ferguson joined Roma on an initial loan deal and is also one to watch, given that Artem Dovbyk doesnāt seem to suit Gaspās tactics.

Martin Baturina (Como)
A new purchase that has gone a bit under the radar, but who will likely show his quality in his first Serie A season. A versatile midfielder, Baturina can play in the middle of the park or slightly closer to a centre-forward, similarly to his compatriot Petar Sucic, who already made his Inter debut in the Club World Cup. Baturina, 22, is regarded as one of the most interesting prospects in his native country and can only benefit from Fabregasā advice at the Stadio Sinigaglia. Como were once again among the biggest spenders in Serie A this summer, and it will be worth watching out for more new signings, including JesĆŗs RodrĆguez, Jayden Addai and Nicolas Kühn, aside from the experienced Alvaro Morata.
