Napoli are closely following developments surrounding Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund, as was reported on Monday afternoon, as the Partenopei see the Dane as a potential replacement for the injured Romelu Lukaku, but have also been offered strikers from Chelsea and Roma.ย
Why Napoli prefer Hojlund to Jackson and Dovbyk
Hojlund has been open to discussions with Milan, but despite reports over the last few weeks linking him with a move to San Siro, a move has not yet materialised. This leaves Napoli as a serious option that could be pursued further.ย
Antonio Conteโs side are on the lookout for a new centre-forward following the confirmation that Romelu Lukaku is set to miss several months of the 2025-26 season after picking up an injury to his thigh during a pre-season friendly against Olympiacos on Thursday.ย

Napoli feel that Hojlund has similar characteristics to Lukaku, and that he could be used as a like-for-like replacement.ย
Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has also been offered to Napoli, but he is expected to cost too much for the Partenopei as things stand.ย
There is potential for Roma striker Artem Dovbyk as well, but Napoli look likely to go for a different profile, particularly after a tough first season in Serie A with the Giallorossi last term.ย
There has not been too much confirmation regarding Joshua Zirkzee other than that Napoli have made an enquiry.ย

Hojlund, meanwhile, has been offered to multiple big clubs in Italy over the last few months, but as things stand, Milan and Napoli are the only two teams in Serie A who have seriously looked into the matter, or are currently looking into the matter.
