Former Serie A and Premier League star Paolo Di Canio is disappointed by Milan’s summer transfer activity and doubts that Como can immediately reach the same level as Brighton, but ‘they will entertain us.’
Di Canio spoke to Italian newspaper La Stampa days before Serie A resumes with Round 3 over the fine settimana.
The former Juventus, Lazio and West Ham striker analysed the transfer activity of Italy’s top sides, giving Napoli the higher grades.
Di Canio’s view on Serie A transfers

“Perhaps it’s the only Italian team that has brought European-level players on the market who are ready to be starters right away,” Di Canio said via TMW.
“Antonio Conte stayed because he could get what he was asking for.”
Inter have had one win and one loss before their game against Juventus on Saturday, and Di Canio feels that Cristian Chivu is “right” to demand more “vertical plays” from his players.
As for his former clubs Juventus and Milan, Di Canio said: “Juventus have got Bremer back, and Openda can make a real difference in Italy. Then we need to see the impact of Vlahovic.
Milan transfer window ‘disappointing’

“Milan had no one like Rabiot, even if the transfer market remains a disappointing hybrid.”
Lastly, the former striker spoke about Cesc Fabregas’ Como, suggesting that they may be struggling to secure a European spot like Brighton in 2022-23.
The Azzurri were among the highest spenders in the summer transfer window, but this is just their second consecutive season in Serie A after promotion in 2023-24.
“They’ll entertain us, but I don’t think they can do something like Brighton in the Premier League,” Di Canio concluded.
