With the arrival of Randal Kolo Muani and a contract that expires in June 2026, more questions are being asked of whether Juventus could sell Dusan Vlahovic now to save โฌ31m.
The striker had been carrying the goals load almost single-handed so far this season and it was taking a toll both on his form and the team, so Kolo Muani was brought in on loan from Paris Saint-Germain.
The France international is expected to make his debut from the start against Napoli this evening and Italian media insist it is only the precursor to a Vlahovic exit.
That might even happen sooner rather than later, as Calciomercato.com calculated how much Juventus would need to sell the Serbian to not make a net loss on his โฌ85.35m purchase from Fiorentina in January 2022.
Why selling Vlahovic saves Juventus money
Including amortisation, the sale in June 2025 would need to be at least โฌ20m, although that is considerably less than the โฌ30m it represented only six months ago.
The main problem for Vlahovicโs future is his salary, which will hit โฌ12m net in the 2025-26 season, which is โฌ22.2m gross for the club to pay.
The contract only runs to June 2026 and Juve are very hesitant to agree a new one, knowing theyโd have to keep that remarkable wage going.
His current salary for the 2024-25 campaign is โฌ10.5m net, circa โฌ18m gross.
It means selling Vlahovic in January 2025 would save Juventus around โฌ31m in wages alone.
Of the clubs who could potentially cover such a salary, the most likely contenders are Arsenal, although their first choice is Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig.
