There has been an overall improvement in the financial health of Serie A clubs, with loses totalling €369m in 2023-24, as now seven clubs are running at a profit.
The sport was hit hard by the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, which forced stadiums to shut down and then vastly limit their revenue, so it will take a while to get back to the €278m total losses of the 2018-19 campaign.
However, there has been an improvement, as Calcio e Finanza calculate the losses for Serie A clubs in 2023-24 at €369m, a drop from the €441m of the 2022-23 season.
The good news is that compared to last year, there are now seven Serie A teams running at a profit, the best figure since 2019-20.
Serie A clubs improved financial health

Napoli made the most money, with profits of €63.029m boosted by player sales and increased television revenues.
Lazio were second on €38.494m, then minnows Lecce at €13.983m.
Atalanta tend to run at a profit and were also helped by winning the Europa League, making a profit of €11.876m in 2023-24.
Frosinone, who were relegated to Serie B last season, finished at €4.413m and Milan pushed into profit at €4.105m.
Hellas Verona pushed their way into a positive financial result at €3.913m.
Juventus were comfortably the side with the worst losses at €199.228m – made worse by missing out on European football.
Roma ran at a loss of €81.364m, while Inter have managed to slice down their financial damage to €35.746m, a huge improvement from the €85.3m of 2022-23.
