Sky Sport correspondent Luca Cilli reports that Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli will remain under scrutiny in the coming weeks, even if the Bianconeri secure a Coppa Campioni placement.
Juventus owners will consider whether to confirm trust in CFO Giuntoli at the end of the season or sack the executive despite a five-year contract at the Allianz Stadium.
Sky Sport transfer expert Luca Cilli reports on X, formerly Twitter, that Giuntoliโs position wonโt be safe even if Juventus reach a top-four placement in the current campaign.
โThere are no certainties regarding the future,โ wrote the Italian reporter.
Giuntoli was hired by Juventus in 2023 after helping Napoli win their first Serie A title in 33 years.
He hired Thiago Motta as Juventusโ new head coach for 2024-25, but the ex-Bologna coach only lasted nine months in Turin. Motta was sacked this past March after two consecutive defeats against Atalanta and Fiorentina, in which Juventus conceded seven goals and scored none.
Juventus face two direct rivals for a Coppa Campioni spot in the next two rounds: first against Bologna on Sunday and then against Lazio on May 10.
What Giuntoli said about Juventusโ future
Speaking to DAZN before a Serie A match against Parma less than two weeks ago, Giuntoli said: โThe latest results have may have raised the Coppa Campioni quota, but we need to focus on ourselves and win this game to reach our target.โ
Speaking about the future of Juventus coach Tudor, who is contracted until July 30, 2025, the Juventus executive added: โWeโve been clear from the beginning. The hope is to stay together, but itโs a decision weโll take after the Club World Cup.โ
