Alvaro Morata has started pre-season training with Galatasaray today, as Milan and Como have still not been able to resolve the loan impasse.

The centre-forward was spotted at their training camp today working alongside his teammates for the Istanbul club.

It was not where he expected to be at this stage of the summer, considering he had accepted a transfer to Como last month as part of a double deal with Milan defender Malick Thiaw for a total โ‚ฌ40m.

Only last week, we reported he had sent his personal belongings back to Madrid and was not attending pre-season training.

Before it could be completed, he first had to terminate the loan experience at Galatasaray early by mutual consent and that has proved to be extremely difficult.

The 32-year-old joined Galatasaray from Milan in February on loan for โ‚ฌ6m until January 2026.

The Turkish team have an obligation to buy for โ‚ฌ8m in January 2026, or can extend the loan by another six months and purchase him for โ‚ฌ9m in June 2026.

Thiawโ€™s refusal to join Como further complicated matters, meaning it was now just a deal with Milan involving Morata.
