Supercoppa Italiana dates official, Milan vs. Como ‘could be played abroad’

The Supercoppa Italiana Final Four will be played in Saudi Arabia from December 17 to 22, featuring Napoli, Inter, Bologna and Milan, while Milan vs. Como in Serie A ‘could be played abroad.’

The dates were confirmed by Lega Serie A President Ezio Simonelli during a press conference.

The tournament made its debut in this format last season in January 2025, so the winners of the Scudetto take on the runners-up in the Coppa Italia, and vice versa, for the Supercoppa semi-finals.

Those will be scheduled for December 17 and 18, with the winning teams going head-to-head in the Supercoppa Final on December 22.

It will be hosted by Saudi Arabia, but the decision has not yet been made between Riyadh and Jeddah for the venue.

Serie A title winners Napoli will face Coppa Italia runners-up Milan in one semi-final, while Cup holders Bologna will play second-placed Inter in the other.

Supercoppa Italiana not the only tie played abroad

In the same press conference, Simonelli also announced that the Lega Serie A has asked to play Milan vs. Como abroad.

The February 2026 fixture cannot take place at San Siro, because the stadium is hosting the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Milano-Cortina.

“This proposal arrived, we made an official request to the FIGC, UEFA and FIFA. It will require authorisation from other federations too, it is a long and complex process, but so far we haven’t received any negative signals.

“We are pushing this idea because San Siro is closed for the Winter Olympics, an unusual event and it was impossible to do anything else.

“We’re trying to turn this into an opportunity to have Italian football seen abroad.”

Simonelli confirmed that several nations have offered to host the fixture, but Saudi Arabia is currently not among them.
