Roma full-back Angelino is still aiming for a ‘dream’ call-up to the Spain national team, which he believes is possible through hard work, and has shared his thoughts ahead of the upcoming Europa League round of 16 tie against Athletic Club.
The 28-year-old has been in impressive form under Claudio Ranieri of late, providing two goals and an assist in his last five league games, which has led to four wins, one draw and three clean sheets over that period for the Giallorossi.
“I feel good in this position. I do the best I can wherever the coach asks me to be. I feel very comfortable in the role he has given me,” the Spaniard told the press during his pre-Athletic Club press conference on Wednesday.
He continued: “I’m very happy and I do the best I can. I work hard and always give my best. What makes me happiest is to provide whatever the coach asks of me.”
Angelino on Spain call-up ‘dream’

The former Manchester City and RB Leipzig full-back still has ambitions of earning a first call-up to the Spain national team at the age of 28. He has two U21 caps dating back to 2018, but has never been selected in the senior squad.
Angelino told the press that a La Roja call-up would be: “a dream. As I said before, with hard work it is possible that it will come.”
On Roma’s form of late, Angelino said: “The period this team is going through is incredible. Everyone is playing at an amazing level. I feel even better thanks to the team.”
He was also asked if he has bought dinner for his teammates after scoring his first Roma goal, which is often a custom among professionals. He replied: “I’m yet to offer them dinner or a drink or anything like that. It will come, but let’s move on,” he joked.
