Video: Zielinski confirms Inter problem with penalties

Inter confirmed their dismal primato from the penalty spot this season, as Piotr Zielinski saw his spot-kick parried by Feyenoord goalkeeper Timon Wellenreuther.

Hakan Calhanoglu is the expert from set pieces and has only failed once in his Inter career to convert successfully.

With the Turkey international on the bench in Rotterdam for the Coppa Campioni Round of 16 first leg tie with Feyenoord, it was decided that Zielinski would do the duties when Marcus Thuram was clipped in the back of the ankle.

However, it was saved by Wellenreuther to keep the score at 2-0 following Thuram and Lautaro Martinez goals.

This was the third penalty Inter had failed to convert in all competition this season, the second in the Coppa Campioni.

Marko Arnautovic had got another wrong in the 1-0 win away to Young Boys on October 23.

Calhanoglu missed in the 1-1 Serie A draw with Napoli on November 10.

Zielinski had until now converted both his attempts, but they were in the same match, a 4-4 draw with Juventus on October 27.

Calhanoglu converted his other six, while Lautaro Martinez and Mehdi Taremi converted one each.
